Champagne Emeline De Sloovere

Rosé

The Champagne Rosé by Emeline De Sloovere offers a sensual and indulgent reading of the villages of Monthelon and Mancy, in the Coteaux Sud d’Épernay, where clay-limestone soils host old vines averaging around 65 years of age, renewed over time through massal selection. For over ten years, viticulture here has relied on light soil work and full respect for life in the vineyard, giving a sincere, lively rosé that expresses its terroir with naturalness and transparency.

This edition, 2022 harvest, combines 50% Chardonnay grapes with 30% Meunier vinified by “saignée” and 20% Meunier vinified as a white wine, with vinification and maturation on fine lees, natural cold stabilisation, no filtration or fining and a low dose of sulphites. After tirage comes ageing on the lees for at least 36 months, while the final dosage of 6 g/l, in the Extra Brut style, completes its balance.

On tasting, this Rosé proves fresh and juicy, with a harmonious, well-defined structure in which the fruity flesh of Meunier finds balance in the tension of Chardonnay and a fine, velvety mousse, able to carry its development with great naturalness and consistency. On the palate, a savoury vein supports a clean, lifted finish, with a clear and pleasant persistence that recalls small red berries and closes with precision, lightness and remarkable elegance.

Emeline De Sloovere

Emeline De Sloovere is a young vigneronne who passionately carries forward the legacy of five generations of vignerons, born from the union of the De Sloovere and Pienne families. An oenologist who now leads the Domaine alongside her mother Chantal, she took over from her grandfather Alain Pienne in 2015, after a period of training in the United States that taught her innovative techniques and a modern vision of wine, placed from the very start at the service of family tradition.

The Domaine is based in Brugny, on the heights of the Coteaux Sud d’Épernay, just a few minutes from Épernay. Here, on her return from the United States, Emeline renewed the work in both vineyard and cellar, where each parcel is vinified separately in small wooden barrels to bring out its character. The Domaine is also a place of hospitality, open for visits and tastings, where family tradition and a contemporary outlook live side by side with ease.
