The Champagnes of De Venoge's prestigious Princes selection stem from a cuvée created as early as 1864 by Joseph de Venoge in homage to the Princes of Orange, still presented today in the unmistakable carafe-shaped bottle that evokes the habits of the great European aristocracy, who used to decant Champagne in crystal flasks. The result of a meticulous selection of grapes from the region's finest crus, the Princes line stands out for its refined elegance and for a beautiful acid framework that represents its most authentic and recognisable stylistic signature.

This Princes Rosé edition, made entirely from Pinot Noir grapes sourced from different terroirs, combines the minerality of the parcels of the Montagne de Reims with the unparalleled aromatic richness of the village of Les Riceys, in the Côte des Bar, giving rise to a Rosé de Noirs of great personality. After tirage, it rests on its own lees for a minimum of 36 months that enriches its texture, with a final dosage of 6 g/l, in Brut style, that completes the profile while preserving freshness and balance.

On tasting, Princes Rosé stands out for its lively, fruity structure, sustained by a vivid freshness that sets its rhythm and enhances its gustatory drive. The texture is fine and well defined, capable of combining fruit and energy in a cohesive, elegant whole. On the palate it develops with vivacity and tension, closing on a clean persistence in which freshness and finesse coexist with continuity and refinement.

De Venoge

The story of Maison de Venoge begins in Switzerland, on the shores of Lake Geneva, where the river Venoge flows into the lake and from which the family takes its name. Henri-Marc de Venoge left his homeland and settled in Champagne, founding "de Venoge & Cie" in 1837 at Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, one of the region's most renowned areas, together with his son Joseph. As early as 1838 the Maison achieved a true revolution: the first illustrated label in the history of Champagne, conceived to offer the nobility of the day not only a great wine, but a precious and elegant object to grace the centre of the table.

In 1851 the Cordon Bleu trademark was registered, an iconic label with a blue band chosen as the Maison's emblem to evoke both the river La Venoge and the Order of the Saint-Esprit, the most celebrated order of chivalry of the French monarchy. In 1858 the Cuvée Princes were born in honour of the Dutch royal house, still presented today in a bottle that recalls the decanters used by the European aristocracy, while 2005 saw the debut of the Cuvée de Prestige "Louis XV", a tribute to the sovereign who, on 25 May 1728, authorised the shipping of Champagne wines alone in bottle, marking the birth of modern Champagne.
