Champagne Bonnet-Ponson
Seconde Nature Millésime 2018
The Champagne Seconde Nature Millésime 2018 by Bonnet-Ponson is crafted from a blend of 45% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay, and 15% Meunier, sourced from three distinct Lieux-Dits – Les Vigneules, Les Spectres, and Les Caquerets – located in the terroir of Chamery, a Premier Cru village in the Montagne de Reims.
The 2018 harvest was vinified exclusively from the “Cœur de Cuvée”, the purest and most refined portion of the must, following a process of vinification and maturation in fût de chêne and large oak casks, with no added sulfites, to preserve the vitality and transparency of the fruit. After tirage, the wine aged for at least 5 years on its lees before dégorgement, with no final dosage, resulting in a Brut Nature style.
On tasting, Seconde Nature Millésime 2018 reveals a bright golden color with a fine and continuous bead. The nose opens with a broad and refined profile, offering aromas of ripe citrus, white peach, and acacia blossom, interwoven with hints of toasted hazelnut, delicate vanilla, and brioche crust. With aeration, nuances of flint and heather honey emerge, deepening the wine’s expression. The palate is vibrant and precise, characterized by dynamic freshness and a chalky mineral texture that brings balance and tension. The finish is long, pure, and saline, with lingering notes of almond and citrus zest, an emblem of the natural finesse and artisanal imprint of Domaine Bonnet-Ponson.
Limited production of only 1,000 bottles, a symbol of the quest for authenticity and precision that defines this Champagne Nature of remarkable energy and expressive finesse.
