The history of Champagne Bonnet-Ponson is rooted in Chamery, in the Petite Montagne de Reims, where the Bonnet family has been active since 1862. With Grégoire Bonnet, a pioneering vision already emerged, focused on vinifying estate-grown grapes and establishing a direct relationship with the terroir. The union of André Bonnet and Monique Ponson led to the creation of the present Domaine, now run by Cyril Bonnet, representing the sixth generation.

The vineyard extends over approximately 10 hectares across the Premier Crus of Chamery, Vrigny, Coulommes-la-Montagne and the Grand Cru of Verzenay. The soils, composed of clay, limestone and sand, offer remarkable diversity, reflected in the wines’ character. The parcels, cultivated under certified organic farming, include Pinot Noir, Meunier, Chardonnay and a small proportion of cépages oubliés, particularly Petit Meslier.

The production philosophy is based on deep respect for soil vitality and a low-intervention approach, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Vinifications take place in steel, concrete and wood, allowing each parcel’s identity to be preserved. A significant portion of the production is dedicated to vin de réserve perpétuelle, ensuring stylistic continuity over time.

Today, Cyril Bonnet leads the Domaine with a balanced vision between tradition and innovation, maintaining a limited production of around 70,000 bottles per year. Careful parcel management, extended ageing and precise winemaking choices result in Champagnes that clearly express the character of the Petite Montagne de Reims, with consistency, depth and a strong sense of identity.
