Nuances de Cornoie
The Champagne Nuances de Cornoie 2018 by Barrat-Masson is crafted from 100% Pinot Noir, sourced from carefully selected old vines over 30 years old located around Villenauxe-la-Grande, on clay and limestone soils that give the wine balance, depth, and a distinct personality.
This Blanc de Noirs edition from the 2018 vintage was vinified 45% in oak barrels (fût de chêne) and 55% in stainless steel, followed by over 60 months of ageing on the lees before dégorgement. With no final dosage (Brut Nature), it preserves the purity, tension, and transparency of the fruit.
On the palate, Nuances de Cornoie 2018 appears bright and intense, with golden highlights and an exceptionally fine, persistent mousse. The bouquet is deep and refined, revealing notes of crisp red fruits, ripe citrus, and delicate spices, intertwined with hints of hazelnut, chalk, and light toast. The palate is broad and structured, with a creamy texture and vibrant mineral freshness that enhances its purity. The balance between energy and roundness leads to a long, saline, and precise finish, marked by elegance and tension. A Blanc de Noirs Champagne of great character and finesse—an authentic expression of the Villenauxe-la-Grande terroir and the artisanal sensitivity of Domaine Barrat-Masson.
