Aurélien Lurquin is an authentic and much sought-after vigneron, closely tied to the village of Romery, along the course of the Marne in the Vallée de la Marne. His training began within the family, with a grandfather who tended the vines of Maison Lanson for decades, and was refined through a doctorate in Oenology and experience gained between Chile and Burgundy. In 2007 he launched his own project, determined to give voice to the family parcels and to interpret Champagne through a personal, rigorous vision.

The first harvests were devoted solely to still Côteaux Champenois wines; in 2012 came organic and biodynamic certification. Very low yields led him to sell most of his grapes to Leclerc-Briant, among the mid-sized Maison most committed to biodynamics: a choice that gave him the resources to build his small cellar and to understand his vines ever more deeply. Over the years he reduced those sales, especially from 2017 onwards, in order to devote himself to his own wines.

The two and a half hectares, divided into five parcels, are worked with a horse, without herbicides or chemical and systemic fertilisers: Pinot Noir predominates, alongside Chardonnay and Meunier and a small share of Petit Meslier. A traditional 2000 kg press allows each parcel to be vinified separately, between concrete and casks, with spontaneous fermentations from indigenous yeasts alone. The result is around two thousand bottles of rare, vibrant Champagne, well worth waiting for and discovering slowly.
