The Champagne Héritage Blanc de Blancs by André Heucq pays tribute to the story of a family that has tended its vines since 1936 in Cuisles, a village in the Vallée de la Marne traditionally associated with Meunier, where Chardonnay finds a rare and surprising expression. The name itself recalls a legacy handed down from generation to generation, now preserved by the fourth generation through certified organic farming and an approach increasingly guided by biodynamics. The grapes come from three parcels, Les Vignes Blanches (lieu-dit), Les Ratraits (lieu-dit) and Le Bout de la Ville (lieu-dit), rooted in silty clay soils rich in illite, with vines averaging around 30 years of age.

This edition, based on the 2018 harvest, is vinified and matured 70% in stainless steel tanks and 30% in oak barrels, a choice that preserves the purity of the fruit while adding breadth and depth, with malolactic fermentation completed. After tirage, the wine ages on the lees for about 72 months, while the final dosage of less than 4 g/l, in Extra Brut style, lets the character of the terroir emerge with clarity.

On tasting, Héritage Blanc de Blancs shows a pale straw-yellow colour with greenish highlights and a fine, lively perlage. The nose recalls citrus, white flowers, apple and pear, then opens towards dry biscuit, shortbread and delicate toasty hints from the time spent in oak. On the palate the attack is taut and crisp, supported by vibrant freshness and a dynamic, precise texture in which the dosage remains discreet. The finish is long and saline, with citrus returns that close in a rigorous and elegant balance.
