Georges Remy

In Bouzy, a Grand Cru village in the Montagne de Reims, the Rémy family has been cultivating vines since 1829. After his grandfather’s post-war winemaking experience, it was Georges Rémy – third generation – who revived the family heritage with an artisanal and contemporary vision. Trained in Avize and with experience in Bordeaux, since 2011 he has led the Domaine, converting the vineyards to organic and biodynamic farming.

The estate covers 4.7 hectares divided into 17 parcels across Bouzy, Ambonnay, Louvois and Tauxières, all now certified organic. The soils, composed of dark clay, silica and chalk, provide depth and a distinctive territorial character. In the cellar, spontaneous fermentations in oak barrels and bottling according to the lunar cycles are preferred, with minimal or zero dosage to preserve purity and precision.

His debut came in 2011 with the Coteaux Champenois Rouge de Bouzy; since 2014 Champagne production has focused on single-parcel vinifications, highlighting the identity of each terroir. Today Georges retains around 20% of the grapes, carefully hand-selected and destemmed, while the rest are sold to support the estate’s growth. A figure of the new generation, he embodies a balance of traditional roots, rigor and sustainability.
