Rousseaux-Batteux

The Domaine Rousseaux-Batteux is the story of a family of winegrowers rècoltant-manipulant dating back to the 18th century and that has its origins in Verzenay, Grand Cru of the Montagne de Reims. It was his great-grandfather Paul Rousseaux who started producing Champagne in 1920 and who had his own cellar, dug into the rock at the end of the 19th century, as a shelter for students from bombardment during the First World War.

In 1976, his grandson Denis created the current Rousseaux-Batteux brand with his wife Laurence Batteux. Since 2012, the management of the Domaine has been entrusted to Adrien Rousseaux, the fourth generation of the family, who runs the business while respecting tradition and paying constant attention to the environment, practising sustainable viticulture without the use of pesticides and herbicides.
