Georges Remy

Georges Remy is the face of a family that in Bouzy, a Grand Cru village on the southern slopes of the Montagne de Reims, has tended vines since 1812 and made wine from the 1950s, when his grandfather signed the first bottles, until 1989, the year his father halted production and handed the grapes over to the cooperative. Trained at Avize and shaped professionally among the vineyards of Bordeaux, Georges returned to the family land in 2006 and brought the name back to the label, with the first Bouzy Rouge in 2011 and the first Champagnes in 2014.

The Domaine today counts just under five hectares divided into some twenty parcels across Bouzy, Ambonnay and Louvois, Grands Crus, and Tauxières, Premier Cru. Pinot Noir predominates, alongside Chardonnay, on clay-limestone soils ploughed since 2012 and certified organic since 2018, with biodynamic practices. Late harvests and parcel-by-parcel vinification in Burgundy barrels give taut, mineral Champagnes made to be waited for. A family story well worth rediscovering, bottle after bottle.
