Champagne Voirin-Jumel
La V.1
The Champagne La V.1 by Voirin-Jumel is the calling card of the Cramant-based house, a multi-parcel cuvée that runs through the chalky soils of the Côte des Blancs, telling the identity of the Voirin and Jumel families. The philosophy is that of a welcoming Blanc de Blancs, conceived as the gateway to the Domaine's Chardonnay, capable of restoring the finesse of the Grand Cru villages of Cramant and Chouilly through a constant dialogue between champenoise tradition and the pursuit of aromatic balance.
This edition, based on the 2021 harvest, includes 40% réserve perpétuelle and brings together the three vintages preceding bottling, lending depth and stylistic continuity to the fresh vintage. It is a Blanc de Blancs produced exclusively from Grand Cru Chardonnay grapes, with vinification and fermentation carried out according to the tradition of the Domaine. The final dosage, between 4 and 6 g/l, in Brut style, enhances the aromatic profile and emphasises the chalky texture of the terroir without covering its clarity.
On tasting, La V.1 appears with a luminous golden yellow hue, with a very fine and persistent perlage that precedes an expressive and juicy mouth. On the palate emerges a harmonious structure, where notes of ripe pear, citrus and white flowers intertwine with a buttery trail, supported by a well-modulated acidity that brings drive and drinkability. The finish is elegant and penetrating, with a chalky minerality that grows sip after sip, leaving a saline persistence of rare poise.
