The Champagne Verzy|20|4.0 by Valentin Leflaive is a Blanc de Noirs made exclusively from Pinot Noir, sourced from vineyard parcels over 50 years old located near the Grand Cru village of Verzy (Montagne de Reims). Each parcel is managed individually and vinified separately to highlight the unique characteristics of the terroir.
The 2020 base vintage undergoes a first fermentation in stainless steel vats and oak barrels (fût de chêne), followed by over 30 months of lees ageing. The final dosage of only 4 g/l – Extra Brut – fully expresses the power of Verzy’s terroir.
On the palate, Verzy|20|4.0 displays a golden hue with subtle shades, typical of the grape variety. The nose is intense and complex, with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry, and raspberry, creating a generous and enveloping aromatic profile. On the palate, it reveals all its elegance through perfect balance and a long, lingering finish.
