The Champagne Jour 1 "Le Levant" by Odyssée 319 marks the beginning of a journey dedicated to exploring the nuances of the village of Avize, a prestigious Grand Cru of the Côte des Blancs. An authentic expression of a terroir devoted to Chardonnay, this Blanc de Blancs comes from parcels located in the southern area of the village, chosen for their east-facing exposure that inspired the wine's name itself. The vines, set on the lower and middle slopes of the hillside, benefit from an early ripening cycle that gives the grapes a distinctive aromatic profile.

This edition, based on the 2016 harvest, is produced exclusively from Chardonnay grapes harvested in the southern parcels of Avize. Vinification and fermentation take place in stainless steel, a technical choice that fully preserves the varietal purity and the mineral tension of the fruit. After tirage, the wine undergoes a long ageing on lees of at least six years, a period during which it gains depth, complexity and an extraordinary balance between maturity and freshness.

On tasting, it appears in the glass with an elegant golden yellow shade crossed by delicate green reflections. The bouquet is rich and articulated, with aromas of white-fleshed fruit such as peach, nectarine and pear, accompanied by delicate floral notes of spring hawthorn. On the palate it proves round, full-bodied and generous, with a long and persistent finish enhanced by saline nuances and a pleasant minty sensation that brings immediate freshness, conveying with elegance and precision the gentle evolution of a great vintage destined to mature harmoniously over time.
