Les Vignes de Montgueux
The Champagne Les Vignes de Montgueux by Jacques Lassaigne is a Blanc de Blancs that embodies with extraordinary precision the essence of the Montgueux terroir, often compared to the “Montrachet of Champagne” for its chalk-rich soils and privileged exposure. Made from pure Chardonnay, sourced from 7 to 9 different parcels, this wine is the result of a blend of three consecutive vintages, undergoes spontaneous fermentation, and matures for about 12 months in oak barrels, followed by at least 48 months of aging on the lees. The final dosage is restrained, in true Extra Brut style.
On tasting, Les Vignes de Montgueux appears in the glass with a brilliant straw yellow color, crossed by a fine and continuous perlage. The aromatic profile reveals green apple, white peach, freshly baked bread, and pastry cream, all wrapped in a delicate chalky minerality. On the palate, it is tense and vibrant, supported by a lively acidity and accompanied by flavors of citrus and stone fruits, which fade into a long and saline finish, elegantly reflecting the purity of the soil.
A Blanc de Blancs Champagne that reflects the savoir-faire of Emmanuel Lassaigne, a sensitive interpreter of an approach that respects both nature and the identity of the terroir.
