Champagne Henriot
Souverain
The Champagne Brut Souverain is the historic cuvée of Maison Henriot, created by Apolline Henriot in 1808. Apolline aimed to celebrate her lands through the creation of a remarkable Champagne. She believed that a single year was not enough to fully express the personality of the terroirs, so she decided to reserve wines every year to create the final blend later. This Champagne is therefore a blend that embodies the essence of all the vineyard’s crus, expressed across different eras. It is a multi-cru and multi-vintage blend, combining the three main grape varieties of Champagne: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Meunier.
From a technical perspective, the blend consists of 45% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay, and 15% Meunier from 29 crus. It is made up of 50-70% wines from the vintage and 30-50% vin de réserve. It is aged for at least 3 years, with a dosage of less than 7 g/L, classified as Brut.
Henriot Brut Souverain offers a rich, complex, and harmonious aromatic profile. Each cru expresses itself uniquely, creating a perfectly balanced “ballet of aromas”: generous notes of cake with fresh citrus, smoky hints that evolve into pure chalky minerality, and an explosion of stone fruits and red berries. On the palate, this Champagne is ample, direct, and round, with a long and persistent freshness.
