Champagne G.H. Mumm
Cordon Rouge
The Champagne Cordon Rouge by G.H. Mumm is one of the Maison’s most iconic labels, created in Reims and instantly recognizable thanks to the famous red sash inspired by the Légion d’Honneur. This cuvée reflects a direct and approachable style, built on a broad selection of vineyards across Champagne, with a strong presence of Pinot Noir shaping its structure and energy.
This Brut non-vintage is crafted from a blend of around 45% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, and 25% Meunier, with a significant proportion of vin de réserve ensuring stylistic consistency. Vinification and fermentation take place in stainless steel to preserve freshness and precision. After bottling, the wine ages on its lees for at least 20 months. The final dosage of around 8 g/l, in Brut style, supports a balanced and coherent profile.
On the palate, Cordon Rouge shows notes of fresh fruit, apple, pear, alongside delicate hints of citrus and brioche. It reveals a lively and smooth structure, supported by well-integrated freshness and a fine mousse. The finish is clean, of medium persistence, with an overall balance that emphasizes immediacy and drinkability.
