The Champagne Blanc de Blancs Millésime by François Secondé comes to life in Sillery, a Grand Cru village of the Montagne de Reims celebrated since the seventeenth century for the nobility of its wines, where Chardonnay represents a rare exception in a land dominated by Pinot Noir. This parcel-driven cuvée encapsulates a philosophy of uncompromising authenticity, capable of returning the chalky and crystalline voice of a historic terroir through a Blanc de Blancs of absolute precision and character.
This edition, Vintage 2017, is based entirely on Chardonnay grapes with vinification and malolactic fermentation carried out in stainless steel and a brief maturation in wood that enriches its texture. After tirage follows a long ageing on the lees with manual remuage, and the final dosage of 7 g/l, in Brut style, accompanies with measure the varietal luminosity, enhancing its natural freshness and expressive elegance.
On tasting, the Blanc de Blancs Millésime 2017 unveils a fine and pearly bubble that traces a lively and crystalline entry, where the acidic drive sustains a compact and progressive texture of rare coherence. On the palate a chalky minerality asserts itself, amplifying the verticality of the mouthfeel, while the finish prolongs a saline and citrus trail of great clarity, marked by a deep and chiselled persistence that confirms the unmistakable identity of Sillery.
