Champagne François Secondé
Cuvée Clavier
The Champagne Cuvée Clavier by François Secondé takes shape in the Montagne de Reims, from Grand Cru parcels spread across Sillery, Verzenay, Mailly and Puisieulx, luminous chalky soils that shape a wine of rare precision. The name itself recalls the keyboard of a piano, where the interplay between white and black keys finds an echo in the harmonic dialogue between Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, translating into the bottle a philosophy of balance and fidelity to the terroir.
This edition, from the 2020 harvest, comes from a blend of 2/3 Chardonnay grapes and 1/3 Pinot Noir grapes sourced from vines with an average age of 42 years, enriched by 30% vin de réserve with vinification in stainless steel and a small share in oak barrels. After tirage follows a minimum ageing of 24 months on the lees with manual remuage, and the final dosage of 7 g/l, in Brut style, enhances its expressive finesse and overall harmony.
On tasting, Cuvée Clavier unfolds a vibrant and clear-cut texture, where citrus freshness dialogues with a fleshy pulp that returns a broad, refined mouthfeel sustained by finely modulated acidity. The creamy bubble accompanies a harmonious structure of rare composure, while the chalky minerality of Sillery imprints a long saline trail on the finish, refined and perfectly chiselled, capable of extending the aromatic echo with remarkable persistence.
