Champagne Famille Moussé
L'Esquisse
The Champagne L'Esquisse by Famille Moussé is a Blanc de Noirs conceived to express the most immediate and dynamic face of the estate. The project brings together young parcels cultivated by the family in the villages of Cuisles, Jonquery and Châtillon-sur-Marne, on soils composed mainly of green clays and calcareous marls. The blend is dominated by Meunier, the emblematic grape of the Vallée de la Marne and a stylistic signature of the Moussé family, complemented by Pinot Noir, resulting in a cuvée that emphasizes freshness, energy and expressive immediacy.
This edition, base vintage 2023, includes a small proportion of reserve wines that contribute balance and stylistic continuity. The composition is 76% Meunier and 24% Pinot Noir. Vinification and fermentation take place with malolactic fermentation completed, while after disgorgement the wine ages on the lees for about 18 months. The final dosage of 1.5 g/l, in Extra Brut style, keeps the wine’s profile taut and precise, highlighting the fruit character of the grapes and the natural drinkability of the cuvée.
On the palate, L’Esquisse reveals a fresh and immediate profile. The bouquet recalls white flowers, fresh citrus, crisp apple and light iodized nuances, accompanied by a delicate mineral imprint. The palate is smooth and dynamic, supported by lively freshness and a refined texture that enhances the expression of Meunier. The progression is balanced and savory, leading to a clean and harmonious finish that delivers a Champagne of great drinkability and stylistic precision.
