The Champagne Chemin de Reims by Chartogne-Taillet originates from a single Lieu-Dit located near the hills of the village of Merfy. This Blanc de Blancs is made exclusively from Chardonnay, specifically from the Plant de Chardonnay clone, cultivated on sandy soil enriched with Thanetian limestone, rich in iron salts, with the presence of deep craie. A terroir of strong character, capable of giving the wine a precise, deep and highly expressive mineral identity.

This edition, Millésime 2021, involves vinification and maturation in fût de chêne, followed, after tirage, by at least 36 months on the lees, reflecting an artisanal vision deeply connected to time and precision of expression. The final dosage of 3.5 g/l, in Extra Brut style, supports the wine’s profile without altering its balance, allowing the integrity of the fruit and the imprint of the soil to emerge clearly.

In tasting, Chemin de Reims 2021 reveals a refined and layered aromatic profile, with notes of ripe citrus, white flowers, hints of chalk, and a subtle ferrous nuance that faithfully reflects the nature of the soil. On the palate it stands out for tension, elegance and depth, with a slender and precise structure, supported by a saline texture that accompanies the finish and extends the persistence with remarkable clarity.
