Bouzy Rouge 2018At the end of the 14th century, it was in Bouzy that Pinot Noir, originally from Burgundy, was first introduced in the Champagne region. Bouzy Rouge is a living witness to this great period when red wines were the pride of Champagne and the beginning of its reputation.
The Côteaux Champenois Bouzy Rouge by Paul Clouet is a red wine made from 100% Pinot Noir harvested in 2018 from the Lieux-Dits 'Les Clos' and 'Les Hautes Brousses' located mid-hill and well exposed to the south in the Grand Cru village of Bouzy. Vinification in stainless steel to allow a free expression of its fruit and ageing in oak barrels for around 24 months before bottling.
The Côteaux Champenois Bouzy Rouge 2018 by Paul Clouet presents itself to the eye with a pale ruby red colour, and an explosion of red fruit, rose and violet aromas on the nose. To the palate it is fresh, savoury and decidedly inviting with its fruity persistence.

Champagne Paul Clouet
Paul Clouet was founded in 1907 by Marie-Thérèse Clouet-Bonnaire's grandfather. Today she guards the vineyards and the winery with the help of her two sons, Jean-Etienne and Jean-Emmanuel. The Bonnaire-Clouet family is a well-known and respected family of vigneron in Bouzy - kingdom of the Pinot Noir in the Montagne de Reims - where their know-how is expressed through their Champagne. Owner of the Domaine Paul Clouet, Marie-Thérése has placed all her trust in her husband Jean-Louis Bonnaire, renowned producer of Cramant, for the elaboration of her wines.
The grapes used in the production of the Cuvées come mainly from the Grand Cru villages of the Champagne region: Bouzy for Pinot Noir and Chouilly for Chardonnay, for a total of about 6 hectares of vineyards, divided into small plots and recognized for the benevolent influences they receive from the soil and climate, perfect for producing some of the greatest wines of the Champagne region. Marie-Thérèse Clouet-Bonnaire is committed, year after year, to carry on the work undertaken by both her parents, Marie-Louise and André Clouet and her grandfather Paul Clouet, while guaranteeing a very high quality level.
