Taittinger
Founded in 1734 and acquired in 1932 by Pierre Taittinger, Maison Taittinger is one of the last great Champagne Houses still guided by its founding family. Today it is chaired by Vitalie Taittinger, alongside her brother Clovis, preserving a vision that weaves together elegance, independence and a deep connection to the land. A history shaped by pivotal moments, including the 2006 buyback: a symbolic gesture that returned the Maison to the family's hands, reaffirming its identity and creative freedom.
The headquarters rise in Reims, where the historic cellars unfold within the ancient Gallo-Roman crayères of the Saint-Nicaise Abbey, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. In these chalk-carved galleries, at a constant temperature, the Champagnes rest slowly, shaped by the silence of the stone. Alongside the Reims site, the Château de la Marquetterie in Pierry embodies the most poetic soul of the Maison: an eighteenth-century residence nestled among the vineyards, it is the place where Pierre Taittinger first sensed his vocation.
The vineyards extend over approximately 288 hectares spread across the Côte des Blancs, Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne and Côte des Bar, encompassing 37 highly prized crus. Chardonnay is the stylistic signature of the Maison, complemented by Pinot Noir and Meunier, lending luminosity, finesse and depth. The commitment to respectful viticulture is reflected in the Haute Valeur Environnementale certification, a tangible expression of a vision that unites tradition and responsibility. Choosing Taittinger means embarking on a journey where history, terroir and elegance merge into pure emotion.
