The Champagne Les Grandes Côtes by Domaine Pierre Gerbais is a Blanc de Noirs made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, a blend of three parcels to represent the balance and power of its terroir of origin. The lieu-dit Les Grandes Côtes is located on a fascinating Kimmeridgian and Portlandian terroir, unique in the Côte des Bar region. Composed of fossil-rich marl and limestone, the Kimmeridgian soil imparts acidity and considerable minerality to the vines, while the Portlandian soil is harder and more brittle, contains less clay and no fossils, resulting in a fruitier wine profile. Through this Champagne Blanc de Noirs, Domaine Pierre Gerbais unifies contrasting expressions of Pinot Noir, conveying the balance, grace and power of both terroirs in a captivating equilibrium. Vinification occurs in stainless steel tanks, followed by blending with vin de Réserve Perpetuelle from 2011 to 2019 and ageing for 36 months on its yeasts before reaching the final dosage of 3 g/l - making it an Extra Brut.

The Champagne Les Grandes Côtes by Domaine Pierre Gerbais opens on the nose with an intense bouquet of brioche, sultanas and poached pear. To the palate notes of bread open up before relaxing into an unhurried procession of vibrant white fruit.
