Champagne Pierre Baillette
Le Village Magnum
The Champagne Le Village by Pierre Baillette is the Domaine’s flagship cuvée, crafted from a blend of 20% Pinot Noir, 60% Chardonnay and 20% Meunier, sourced from old vines in the Premier Cru village of Trois-Puits, in the Montagne de Reims, where the chalky soils lend the wine mineral tension and a distinctive grip.
This Magnum format is based on the 2020 harvest, enriched with 20% vin de réserve. Vinification follows spontaneous fermentations without filtration, with ageing of about 10 months in 350-litre oak barrels and enamel tanks. After tirage, the wine rests for at least 24 months on the lees; at disgorgement, a final dosage of 4 g/l in Extra Brut style preserves the purity of the fruit and the identity of the terroir.
On the palate, Le Village reveals a fine and persistent perlage, with a bright yellow hue and golden highlights. The bouquet opens with notes of fresh citrus, green apple and white flowers, followed by delicate nuances of roasted hazelnut and brioche, derived from lees ageing. On tasting, it stands out for its vibrant freshness, precise aromatics and chalk-driven structure that brings length and depth, concluding with an elegant, savoury finish marked by great harmony and mineral energy.
