Réserve Perpétuelle "Non Dosé"
The Champagne Réserve Perpétuelle by Philipponnat represents the most authentic expression of the House style, a tribute to the Champenois tradition of continuous renewal that since 1946 has linked every new harvest to the memory of those before it. Its name comes from the method of the same name, which progressively blends the wines of the year with a vin de réserve kept in wood, preserving over time a rare balance between immediate freshness and layered depth.
This "Non Dosé" edition, with a 2022 base harvest at 90% and a 10% réserve perpétuelle, brings together 80% Pinot Noir grapes, 18% Chardonnay and 2% Meunier, selected and harvested largely in Grands and Premiers Crus villages around Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. Vinification and fermentation follow tradition, with a first pressing and a fermentation carried out in steel and wood to avoid premature oxidation. After the tirage comes an ageing on the lees of at least three years, while the choice to leave the wine with no final dosage, in Brut Nature style, brings out its authentic character and clear aromatic definition.
On tasting, the Réserve Perpétuelle Non Dosé shows a pale gold hue and a fine, persistent mousse. The nose opens with delicate floral notes of linden blossom, vine flower and hawthorn. On the palate the attack is clean and pure, enlivened by a vibrant citrus freshness that is never aggressive. The finish is long and crystalline, with pleasant hints of warm bread and fresh apple. A cuvée that reveals an impeccable balance between aromatic precision (lemon and orange zest), minerality and elegant vinosity. An authentic and radiant expression of Philipponnat's unmistakable style.
