The Champagne Collection by Louis Roederer tells the story of a Maison that has made continuity its signature, a project in which every release marks a new chapter without ever losing its founding identity. From the union of a base harvest and reserve wines comes a new idea of blending, that of an evolving Brut sans année built on three guiding principles, balance, freshness and complexity, translating the richness of a vast territory into a profile of rare consistency and depth.

This 245 edition, with a 2019 base harvest at 55%, combines vin de réserve matured in wood with the depth of a réserve perpétuelle kept in stainless steel, and features a blend with a prevalence of Chardonnay grapes, flanked by 35% Pinot Noir and 24% Meunier. Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats and, after tirage, the wine undergoes a minimum of 36 months of ageing on its own lees that lends breadth and volume, while the final dosage of 7 g/l, in a Brut style, rounds out the whole and preserves its tension, drive and the unmistakable signature of the Maison.

On tasting, Collection 245 shows a beautiful golden-yellow hue and a steady, dynamic effervescence, then opens on a bouquet of yellow fruits and ripe citrus enriched by notes of pollen, almond and freshly cut wheat, with lightly smoky nuances. On the palate it is velvety and juicy, with almost saline bubbles wrapped in a broad, concentrated texture, sustained by a chalky, saline freshness that stretches a long, chiselled and faintly oaky finish.
