The Champagne Vinothèque Millésime by Guy Michel stand as true testaments of time, carefully selected from the Domaine’s finest harvests and preserved for decades on their lees before recent disgorgement. These are rare and precious cuvées, produced in extremely limited quantities, encapsulating the purest essence of the Domaine and expressing a vision deeply rooted in the tradition of the Vallée de la Marne.
The Millésime 1982 is a blend of 70% Meunier and 30% Chardonnay, sourced from a historic vintage. Its exceptional aging of over 39 years on the lees imparts remarkable complexity, while the Extra Brut dosage enhances the wine’s balance and precision, revealing a sensory profile that is both rare and inimitable.
In the glass, it shows golden highlights and an exceptionally fine bead, leading into a deep, layered bouquet with notes of toasted hazelnut, candied fruit, sweet spices, and subtle undergrowth. The palate is enveloping and vibrant, sustained by a surprising freshness and a long, mineral-driven finish. A meditative Champagne that reflects the artisanal and age-worthy identity of Guy Michel.
