The Champagne 100% Pinot Blanc by Gilbert Leseurre is a rare and characterful Blanc de Blancs, the expression of one of Champagne's cépages oubliés, Pinot Blanc, here interpreted without any compromise. The grapes come from a single plot in the village of Arrentières, in the heart of the Côte des Bar, where the clay-limestone soils imprint on the wine a vibrant tension and a marked territorial signature, conveying the authenticity of a terroir that enhances this forgotten, niche variety with rare coherence.
This edition, harvest 2023, is vinified exclusively in stainless steel to preserve the aromatic finesse of the variety and bring out its luminous drive. After tirage comes an ageing on its own lees that brings depth and a delicate texture, while the final dosage of 2 g/l, in an Extra Brut style, supports the balance on the palate and amplifies the mineral backbone of the wine, completing an interpretation as original as it is refined of a Pinot Blanc of times past.
On the palate, it reveals an elegant and essential profile, where delicate floral notes intertwine with hints of crisp white fruit in a whole of great clarity. The palate is led by a mineral tension that drives a taut and precise sip, sustained by a vibrant freshness and by a persistence closing on a saline and luminous finish, the mark of a cuvée that surprises for personality, purity and authenticity from the attack through to the closing trail.
