The Champagne Initiation by Benoît Déhu is the result of a refined blend of 78% Meunier and 22% Pinot Noir, sourced from selected parcels located in the village of Fossoy, in the Vallée de la Marne. In this authentic corner of Champagne, the vineyards are cultivated according to biodynamic principles, following the lunar calendar and farming practices that respect nature. An approach consistent with the vigneron’s philosophy, centered on the desire to design, discover, and reveal the identity of the terroir through meticulous parcel selection.

The cuvée is born from the 2021 harvest. Vinification and initial aging take place in 228-liter oak barrels, using native yeasts. The wine undergoes no fining or filtration, in full respect of its natural expression. After bottling, it ages for around 24 months on its lees. Disgorgement is carried out without any dosage (0 g/l), resulting in a Brut Natureexpression that is pure, precise, and vibrant, capable of fully reflecting the character of the soil.

In the glass, Initiation displays bright golden reflections and a fine, elegant perlage. On the nose, it expresses complexity and finesse, offering notes of white flowers, citrus, dried fruit, and a touch of spice and light smokiness. On the palate, it is tense and energetic, with pronounced minerality and a deep, chiseled structure, perfectly conveying the artisan style of Benoît Déhu.
