Champagne Antoine Bouvet
Avenay Val d'Or
The Champagne Avenay Val d'Or by Antoine Bouvet comes from the Lieu-dit Les Plantes, near Avenay-Val-d’Or, from a Chardonnay parcel planted in the late 1970s. In this Premier Cru of the Grande Vallée de la Marne, chalky soils precisely shape the wine’s profile, delivering a pure and luminous expression of the terroir. It is a Blanc de Blancs with a strong identity, crafted to highlight expressive purity, mineral tension and fidelity to the vineyard.
This edition, harvest 2022, is interpreted through an artisanal, non-interventionist vinification and fermentation, with spontaneous fermentations in used barriques, without fining or filtration. After tirage, the wine ages on its lees for at least 30 months, before manual dégorgement. No dosage, in Extra Brut style, underscores the wine’s precise and rigorous character.
On the palate, Avenay Val d'Or reveals a tense and luminous profile, with notes of flint, candied citrus and chalky nuances. It develops with a vertical drive and sculpted precision, supported by a saline backbone that enhances energy, balance and depth. The finish is long, clean and coherent, reflecting Antoine Bouvet’s selective and rigorous approach.
