Amplitude

The Champagne Amplitude by A. Lamblot comes to life exclusively from Chardonnay grapes grown in two single parcels of great value, Les Fourgons (lieu-dit) planted in 1969 in Vrigny and Grand Chemin (lieu-dit) established in 1982 in Janvry, villages of the Montagne de Reims. It is the expression of an artisanal and respectful viticulture, able to draw from the more mature vines that amplitude and depth evoked by the name, giving shape to a Blanc de Blancs of rare authenticity and drive.

This edition, interpreted with an artisanal and non-interventionist approach, involves vinification and maturation carried out between stainless steel tanks and oak barrels, without seeking the malolactic fermentation. After the tirage comes an ageing of more than three years on the lees, before a manual remuage and a dégorgement performed entirely à la volée, while the absence of final dosage, in a Brut Nature style, heightens its transparency.

On tasting, Amplitude reveals itself straight and vertical, with a taut profile in which the chalky minerality converses with delicate notes of citrus, white flowers and a touch of white-fleshed fruit, barely caressed by the passage in wood. On the palate it strikes for its amplitude and definition, sustained by a vibrant freshness and a firm yet slender structure, leading towards a savoury, saline finish of long persistence, where precision and energy find a truly convincing balance. Production in a limited run of just 1,638 bottles.

A. Lamblot

Alexandre Lamblot represents the 13th generation of vignerons in his family and stands out as one of the most compelling voices of the new artisanal Champagne scene. After gaining experience alongside Jérôme Prévost at La Closerie, he took over the family’s 3.8 hectares of vineyards, spread across Janvry, Gueux, Vrigny, and Chenay, in the northern part of the Petite Montagne de Reims. This is an area where Meunier reaches a particularly expressive and distinctive character, shaped by a terroir that brings both tension and precision to the wines.

From the outset, Lamblot set a clear direction, introducing biodynamics, agroforestry, and the consistent use of natural materials throughout the production process. In the vineyards, he planted more than one hundred trees—mainly fruit trees—to break the logic of monoculture and restore ecological balance. The same philosophy continues in the cellar, where experimentation is guided by a desire to faithfully express both terroir and vintage, following his motto: “ne rien s’interdire, ne rien s’imposer”—to forbid nothing, to impose nothing.

His independence came early, driven by strong convictions and a well-defined vision. Lamblot pursued his path with determination, extending this mindset even to packaging choices: local cork closures, recycled paper labels, and recyclable cartons complete a production chain conceived with responsibility in mind. Alexandre belongs to a generation of vignerons reshaping Champagne through concrete actions, agricultural sensitivity, and creative freedom—a name to watch closely.
