Champagne Dom Pérignon
Rosé Vintage Magnum 2008

Dom Pérignon Rosé is a tribute to Pinot Noir. To work with Pinot Noir continually requires excellence and humility. In that regard, Dom Pérignon Rosé is a paradox to the point of contradiction as it is the perfect balance of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Although it took over ten years to reach the light of day, the color of Dom Pérignon Rosé dares to express all the tension between youth and maturity, between exhibition and restraint. Dom Pérignon Rosé keeps the Pinot Noir promise by making it sing out loud, on a clear, vibrant and fragile note.

The 2008 vintage was characterised by grey and cloudy skies, a singular condition in a decade of incredibly generous sunshine. Spring and summer also suffered from a lack of light and warmth. Then, the month of September - as late as miraculously - saved the vintage. Just as the harvest was about to begin, on 15 September, conditions were perfect: blue skies and winds blowing from the north-northeast. The harvest took a long time to take full advantage of this unexpected gift. The ripeness of the grapes exceeded all expectations, achieving an unprecedented and exceptional balance. The bunches were perfectly healthy.

The Champagne Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2008 immediately opens on the nose with aromas of raspberry and wild strawberry. Powdery notes of iris and violet soon merge with the fruity aromas and persist. When allowed to breathe, the wine reveals greener nuances, evoking privet, angelica and camphor leaves.  On the palate, the first sensations are tactile, fleshy, silky. They unfold like a caress that gradually becomes more decisive. The acidic texture, a signature of this vintage, creeps into the structure of the Pinot Noir and makes the heart of the wine pulsate. The finish, with hints of peony and white pepper, is firm and persistent.

Champagne Dom Pérignon

Dom Pérignon has had a priviledge position in the field of Champagne since it was born in 1936. Its origins are older because Dom Pérignon is part of Moët & Chandon (founded in 1743). While Moët & Chandon is involved in a good quality and large quantity Champagne production, Dom Pérignon focuses on absolute quality. Its long experience over centuries is used to produce a top quality Champagne, we all know well. Dom Pérignon is avibrant tribute to Dom Pierre Pérignon, spiritual father of Champagne. It is a miracle of assemblage and refinance with a misterious harmony, which is always new, the perfect meeting between the two classical variety Dom Pérignon, namely Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Since 1990 Richard Geoffroy has been Chef de Cave and father of the Vintages Dom Pérignon and the one embodying the spirit of Dom Pierre PérignonDom Pérignon only creates Vintage Champagnes, from the best selected grapes from a single year of vintage. It never ends its innovating experience and always offers the best of the vintage. It refuses compromises and does not produce its Vintages when the vintage is not at its best- After a 8-year vinification, the wine reaches a perfect balance, the most beautiful product of the Maison: this is Dom Pérignon VintageP2 is Deuxième Plénitude by Dom Pérignon, the result of a 16-year process of elaboration. All assemblage ingredients are well mixed and grant the Vintage a stronger intensity, liveliness and precision: Champagne energy at its best! P3 is Troisième Plénitude by Dom Pérignon, the result of a 25-year process of elaboration. The Champagne gains an even more essential structure, enriched by a slow and deep integration. This is a sublime wine, more complex than ever. The Troisième Plénitude is Dom Pérignon's soul.
