La Rogerie

Domaine La Rogerie was born in 2015 from the meeting of two wine stories, that of François Petit, who grew up in the Grand Cru village of Avize in the Côte des Blancs, where his great-grandfather and grandfather planted the first vines in the 1940s, and that of Justine Boxler, heir to an Alsatian family rooted in Niedermorschwihr since the seventeenth century. Two legacies that, rather than ruling each other out, chose to add up, and so the couple farm both lands, dividing the year between Champagne and Alsace. Since 2018 they no longer sell their grapes, but vinify and bottle everything themselves, signing every bottle together.

The Domaine today counts around three hectares of Chardonnay spread across Avize, Cramant and Oger, vines of eighty years and more grown from massal selection, their roots sunk into chalk formed of marine fossils, with naturally modest yields. These are parcels farmed with the utmost respect, worked by horse, fed with the estate's own compost and free of any herbicide, and picked early to preserve tension and freshness. The result is rare, finely chiselled wines devoted to the purity of chalk, telling the story of the Côte des Blancs in a quiet voice, to be discovered slowly, letting the terroir do the talking.
