Champagne Le Brun de Neuville
La Croisée des Chemins Magnum
The Champagne La Croisée des Chemins by Le Brun de Neuville represents the meeting point of the Les Chemins range, where a parcel-based approach, sustainable viticulture and the human touch come together in a shared vision devoted to the search for identity and uniqueness. Coming from the lieu-dit of the same name in the Côte de Sézanne, it precisely interprets a terroir able to combine finesse and structure, highlighting the balance between the chalky character of the soil and the full ripeness of the fruit.
This edition, from the 2016 harvest, is enriched with 70% vin de réserve and shows a prevalence of Chardonnay grapes at 75%, completed by 25% Pinot Noir, with a slow vinification and fermentation in oak vats and stainless steel tanks, followed by around ten months of maturation. After tirage comes an ageing on the lees of 9 years under cork stopper and a dégorgement à la volée, while the final dosage of 5 g/l, in Extra Brut style, enhances its balance and precision.
On tasting, La Croisée des Chemins reveals a broad and layered profile, in which the long time on the lees and the generous share of vin de réserve translate into notes of candied citrus, ripe white fruit, pastry and delicate toasty nuances. On the palate it shows a full yet always elegant structure, with a creamy texture supported by a still vibrant freshness and a harmonious progression that leads the wine to a deep, savoury finish of very long persistence.
