Champagne Laborde
Les Beaux Lieux 2019
The Champagne Les Beaux Lieux 2019 by Laborde is a Blanc de Blancs made exclusively from Chardonnay grown in Nogent l’Abbesse, on a small Lieu-Dit parcel of just 0.45 hectares, planted in the 1970s from massal selection. The brown limestone soil, with chalk subsoil in the lower part and clay in the upper part, lends the wine a marked minerality. The vineyard is farmed with a strong commitment to biodiversity, without the use of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides.
The cuvée is crafted solely from the first pressing (100% Cuvée) of the 2019 harvest, vinified and aged in stainless steel to preserve maximum freshness and tension. Following spontaneous fermentation, the wine is aged for 4 years on the lees, and then disgorged with a final dosage of just 4 g/L, placing it in the Extra Brut category.
On tasting, Les Beaux Lieux 2019 displays a brilliant golden yellow hue with greenish highlights and fine bubbles. The nose reveals aromas of white flowers, pear, citrus, and verbena, while the palate opens with a crisp attack and a velvety texture, unfolding into flavors of white peach and grapefruit, with a subtle and persistent finish. Produced in a limited edition of just 1,415 bottles.
