Cuvée Royale Blanc de Blancs
The Champagne Cuvée Royale Blanc de Blancs by Joseph Perrier is one of the Maison’s most historic and recognizable expressions — a true symbol of elegance and vibrancy. Produced for the first time in 1952 by Michel and Georges Pithois, it was among the first 100% Chardonnay Champagnes ever launched on the Champagne market. Today, under the leadership of Benjamin Fourmon, the sixth generation at the helm of the Maison, and with the oenological signature of Nathalie Laplaige, this cuvée continues to embody the purity and refinement of the Joseph Perrier style, uniting freshness, harmony, and character.
A blend of Chardonnay from around ten crus located in the villages of Cumières, Avize, Chouilly, Mesnil-sur-Oger, Bergères-lès-Vertus, Trépail, and Bassuet, the Cuvée Royale Blanc de Blancs includes about 15% reserve wines and is aged for 36 months on the lees in the historic cellars of Châlons-en-Champagne. The final dosage of 6 g/l lends it balance and finesse, while preserving the natural freshness and mineral tension of the grape variety.
On tasting, Cuvée Royale Blanc de Blancs reveals a bright straw-yellow color, enhanced by golden reflections and a fine, steady effervescence. The nose is floral and delicate, with notes of apricot and mirabelle plum intertwined with a subtle citrus nuance. On the palate, it opens with a lively, expansive attack, followed by fresh pressed-citrus notes, spicy hints of cinnamon and vanilla, and gourmet touches of pastry. The yuzu-inflected finish, bright and precise, imparts energy and depth, signing off an elegant, balanced, and luminous Champagne — a true emblem of the art of Chardonnay according to Joseph Perrier.
