The story of Maison de Venoge begins in Switzerland, on the shores of Lake Geneva, where the river Venoge flows into the lake and from which the family takes its name. Henri-Marc de Venoge left his homeland and settled in Champagne, founding "de Venoge & Cie" in 1837 at Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, one of the region's most renowned areas, together with his son Joseph. As early as 1838 the Maison achieved a true revolution: the first illustrated label in the history of Champagne, conceived to offer the nobility of the day not only a great wine, but a precious and elegant object to grace the centre of the table.

In 1851 the Cordon Bleu trademark was registered, an iconic label with a blue band chosen as the Maison's emblem to evoke both the river La Venoge and the Order of the Saint-Esprit, the most celebrated order of chivalry of the French monarchy. In 1858 the Cuvée Princes were born in honour of the Dutch royal house, still presented today in a bottle that recalls the decanters used by the European aristocracy, while 2005 saw the debut of the Cuvée de Prestige "Louis XV", a tribute to the sovereign who, on 25 May 1728, authorised the shipping of Champagne wines alone in bottle, marking the birth of modern Champagne.

Since 2015 the Maison has made its home at number 33 Avenue de Champagne in Épernay, in a prestigious villa now part of the UNESCO World Heritage, reflecting the nobility and refinement associated with de Venoge. Drawing on outstanding terroirs among Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards, the Maison works with Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims, Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and Meunier from the Vallée de la Marne, favouring long ageing on the lees and measured dosages that bring out finesse and balance. For nearly two centuries, de Venoge has thus continued to unite historical memory with the pursuit of elegance, remaining a benchmark presence within the world of Champagne.
