The Champagne Le Réserve by Billecart-Salmon gathers the soul of more than forty crus spread within a twenty-kilometre radius around Épernay, where over three hundred hectares of vines provide the raw material for a selection carried out with the rigour that the same family has passed down since 1818. It is the Champagne from the Maison that best tells a story built on finesse and continuity, an interpretation in which harmony and elegance matter more than power.

This edition, based on the 2021 harvest and with 58% of vin de réserve drawn from 16 different years going back to 2006, shows a prevalence of Meunier grapes at 37%, joined by 35% Chardonnay and 28% Pinot Noir. Vinification and fermentation take place at low temperature to preserve freshness and precision, with 95% in stainless steel and 5% in fût de chêne, and after tirage comes a minimum of 36 months of ageing on the lees, while the final dosage of 3.8 g/l, in Extra Brut style, defines its balance.

On tasting, Le Réserve reveals a pale gold hue crossed by a fine and dynamic perlage, with an abundant and persistent mousse introducing an intense and precise nose of fleshy white fruit, delicate floral hints and shades of biscuit. On the palate the texture is subtle and the vinosity elegant, with apple, crisp pear, citrus and a gently toasted touch supported by a mineral freshness that stretches the finish into a long, clean and beautifully composed close.
