The Côteaux Champenois Troissy Rouge by Alexis is a white wine resulting from 100% Meunier harvested in 2019 from the estate plot - Les Vignes Gervais - located near the village of Troissy. Fermentation and ageing for about 24 months in barrique before bottling for only 300 bottles.

The Côteaux Champenois Troissy Rouge by Alexis is a particularly fruity red wine that reflects in an exemplary manner the characteristics of the Meunier grape of origin.

Champagne Alexis

In Troissy-Bouquigny, in the Vallée de la Marne, Champagne Alexis born in 2015 from the ambitious project of Alexis, sixth generation of Champagne Xavier Leconte. The vineyards of Champagne Alexis consist of small plots distributed in the villages of Troissy, Dormans, Mareuil-le-Port, Vandières and Aÿ: Meunier is mainly located in Troissy, while Pinot Noir in Aÿ.

Alexis manages the work in the vineyard with meticulous attention by applying the principles of biodynamic agriculture, including the integration of lunar cycles both in the activities in the vineyard and during vinification in the cellar. The goal is to preserve the soil and obtain healthy grapes to produce quality wines that express the terroir that gather all the richness and complexity of each lieu-dit. For this reason Alexis conducts a parcel vinification.

In the cellar, fermentation is done in fût de chêne and / or in particular terracotta amphorae; spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts are favored and it is limited to the minimum intervention in all subsequent phases. The malolactic fermentation is not performed and the added dosages are minimal if not zero.

Complexity, consistency, depth and harmony are the characteristics of the Champagne Alexis, which promises to be one of the most promising new realities among the region's vignerons.
