Louis Roederer is an exceptional Maison with foundations firmly rooted in tradition but at the same time constantly developing. This Champagne is the fourth example of a champagne with no final dosage - making it a Brut Nature - produced by the Maison from a single vintage grown in the Lieu-Dit La Rivière, a Biodynamically managed vineyard in the village of Cumierès, a Premier Cru in the Vallée de la Marne. The 2015 vintage was extraordinary, perfectly in line with the continental trend of the decade: mild, wet winter and hot, dry summer. The summer, which was hot and sunny, will be remembered for its record heat and drought, but fortunately, in the second half of August, a saving rain brought much-needed relief to the vines. The ripening, thanks to this cool finish, will result in juicy, ripe and concentrated grapes. A spectacular vintage!

The Champagne Brut Nature Blanc 2015 is yellow in colour, with iridescent reflections and a dynamic, regular effervescence. On the nose, the bouquet is pure, soaring, vertical, rich and concentrated. It evokes ripe but very elegant aromas: fine and delicate citrus peel (lemon, orange), vanilla (Bourbon vanilla from Madagascar) warmer nuances of baked apple, of tarte tatin, tending progressively towards crisp notes. On the palate, it offers a marked and singular contrast: undeniably expressionist thanks to the ample, juicy, almost sensual texture of the clayey soils of Cumières in a year rich in sunshine, but also resolutely minimalist thanks to a real vein of freshness, pure, mineral, stimulating, due to the zero dosage. Ripe citrus fruits mingle with warm pebbles to further enhance the salivation and umami aspect. The finish is energetic, light and ethereal.
