Demière Ansiot

In the village of Oger, on the slopes of the Côte des Blancs, lies Domaine Demière Ansiot, a family-run estate cultivating 8.5 hectares of vineyards classified as Grand Cru. Winemakers for four generations, the estate is today led by Nicolas Demière who, together with his family, oversees every stage of the work in complete autonomy, from tending the vineyard to harvesting and on to vinification. The vines, planted exclusively with Chardonnay, are over forty years old, and around 40% enjoy a south-eastern exposure that ensures ideal ripening of the grapes.

The character of these wines is shaped above all by the subsoil of Oger, made of pure belemnite, among the rarest and most sought-after chalk soils in all of Champagne, a rock that precisely regulates the supply of water and imposes a slow, steady ripening on the vine, preserving a rare mineral tension in the fruit. Aged at length on the lees in the cool family cellars and disgorged à la volée, the Demière Ansiot Champagnes transform this natural acidity into elegance and complexity. With a production of around 30,000 bottles, the Domaine safeguards the most authentic identity of the Côte des Blancs, offering the luminous grace and depth of a great Grand Cru terroir.
