Moët & Chandon was founded in 1743 in Épernay by Claude Moët, among the first to recognize the potential of Champagne on international markets. As early as the 18th century, the Maison established itself within the most exclusive circles of the European elite, becoming a symbol of prestige and refinement. A key figure in its rise was Madame de Pompadour, favorite of Louis XV, who promoted its presence at the French court, helping to shape an image closely associated with pleasure, elegance, and modernity.

Today, the vineyard holdings exceed 1,000 hectares, among the largest in Champagne, spread across numerous Grand and Premier Cru villages. This extensive patrimony allows for rigorous grape selection and remarkable stylistic consistency over time. Vinification and fermentation take place mainly in stainless steel to preserve precision and freshness, while the use of vin de réserve ensures balance and recognizability. From 1870 onward, the Maison also introduced the concept of vintage Champagne (Millésime), highlighting exceptional years by indicating the harvest on the label.

Long synonymous with luxury and celebration, Moët & Chandon has accompanied the evolution of taste and society, consolidating its status as one of the most beloved and widely recognized Champagnes in the world. Over time, the Maison has evolved without losing its identity, combining tradition with a concrete commitment to environmental sustainability. In recent years, it has significantly reduced the use of herbicides and water consumption, promoting more responsible agricultural practices and a production vision focused on protecting the land and future generations.
