The Champagne Le Montmedy by Manon Boutillez-Guer is a Blanc de Blancs originating in Villers-Marmery, a Premier Cru village in the Montagne de Reims, a distinctive area where Chardonnay achieves particularly refined expression on chalky and limestone soils. “Le Montmedy” takes its name from the parcel of origin, highlighting the parcel-driven and identity-focused approach of this young vigneronne, who leads the family Domaine with careful attention to sustainable viticulture and the enhancement of terroir. This cuvée represents a luminous and vertical interpretation of the village, precisely expressing the mineral imprint of its origin.

This edition, based on the 2020 vintage, is vinified primarily in stainless steel to preserve the integrity and freshness of the fruit. After tirage, it undergoes at least 48 months of aging on the lees. The low dosage, around 1 g/L, places it in the Extra Brut category, reinforcing its purity and expressive tension.

On the nose, Le Montmedy opens with clean aromas of fresh citrus, lemon zest, and white flowers, accompanied by light notes of green apple and hints of fine pastry. On the palate, it reveals a fine and precise texture supported by vibrant acidity and a pronounced mineral imprint. The structure is sleek and elegant, with a delicate, well-integrated mousse. The finish is long, saline, and consistent, closing with a harmonious character that clearly reflects the identity of the Villers-Marmery terroir.
