Champagne Hugues Godmé
La RĂ©serve Magnum
The Champagne La Réserve by Hugues Godmé is born from the meeting in equal parts of the three classic varieties authorised in Champagne, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier, in a balance that tells the whole palette of the region's grapes. The grapes come from vines spread across Premier and Grand Cru villages of the Montagne de Reims, more precisely Verzenay, Verzy, Villers-Marmery and Villedommange, where the chalky and clay soils imprint on the wine finesse and mineral tension, the result of a biodynamic approach attentive to the natural balance of the soil.
This edition, from the 2020 harvest enriched by a generous share of vin de réserve, is vinified preserving the freshness and the transparency of the fruit of the three varieties. After tirage comes an ageing of around 36 months on its own lees, which brings depth and a harmonious texture, while the final dosage of 4 g/l, in an Extra Brut style, supports the balance on the palate without covering the varietal clarity, completing a fresh and coherent interpretation of the traditional blend.
On the palate, La Réserve stands out for its fresh and balanced profile, where the fruity and floral notes intertwine with a delicate mineral imprint in a whole of great harmony. The palate is agile and precise, sustained by a vibrant freshness and a very fine bubble that accompanies a linear and smooth development, closing on a savoury and clean finish that confirms the elegance and expressive coherence of this cuvée of convivial character.
