Champagne Hervé Jestin
Clos de Cumières 2012
The Champagne Clos de Cumières 2012 by Hervé Jestin is an author’s cuvée, the result of an equal blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, sourced from a micro-parcel of 0.49 hectares in the village of Cumières, in the heart of the Vallée de la Marne. This clos, managed under biodynamic and bioenergetic principles by Hervé and his brother Yann, hosts vines over 50 years old and represents a rare example of a monopole in Champagne.
The 2012 harvest was vinified for 10 months in French oak barrels from Allier and terracotta amphorae, with malolactic fermentation completed. The wine then aged on the lees for at least 9 years, with no final dosage – Extra Brut – to fully express the purity of its origin.
On tasting, Clos de Cumières 2012 shows a brilliant golden yellow hue and a fine, persistent perlage. The nose reveals notes of rosemary, vanilla, and lemon zest, while the palate impresses with a creamy texture, vibrant freshness, and hints of Pu-erh tea, leading to a long mineral finish.
A Champagne that embodies the savoir-faire of Hervé Jestin, a faithful interpreter of the terroir through sustainable practices and a respectful approach to the raw material. Limited production of 2,341 bottles.
