Founded in 1838 in Aÿ, a historic Grand Cru village of Champagne, the Maison Deutz was born from the meeting of William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann, two wine merchants originally from Aix-la-Chapelle. Their blend of German rigour and French refinement proved the key to their success, swiftly carrying the name to the world's most prestigious markets. Handed down through generations by the founding families and later by the Lallier family, the Maison has preserved its identity intact even after joining the Louis Roederer family group in 1993.

In Aÿ, an exceptional terroir of the Montagne de Reims renowned for the power of its Pinot Noir, the Maison safeguards its most authentic soul. Beneath the hillside wind some three kilometres of cellars carved into the chalk, more than twenty metres underground, where the wines rest in silence through long years of patient ageing. Discreet and elegant, faithful to its historic roots, Deutz embodies a vision of Champagne built on precision, consistency and a constant pursuit of balance, qualities that have earned it international prestige.

The vineyard spans around two hundred hectares in all, some forty of them owned outright, spread across the great terroirs of the Côte des Blancs, the Montagne de Reims and the Vallée de la Marne. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier form blends drawn largely from Grand Cru and Premier Cru villages, the fruit of meticulous selection devoted to finesse. The result is Champagne of delicate, vibrant elegance, a testament to a timeless refinement in which every detail carries with it nearly two centuries of history and dedication.
