Amour de Deutz Rosé 2013

The Champagne Amour de Deutz Rosé comes from exceptional vineyards renowned for the extraordinary quality of their Pinot Noir (Aÿ, Verzenay, Ambonnay, Bouzy) and Chardonnay (Avize, Mesnil-sur-Oger, Chouilly, Villers-Marmery). This Rosé Millésime 2013 is a blend of 58% Pinot Noir and 42% Chardonnay grapes enriched with 6% vin rouge from old Pinot Noir vineyard plots, such as ‘La Pelle’ in the Grand Cru of Aÿ and ‘Charmont’ in the Premier Cru of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ.

2013 was a late year for the Champagne region. After a long and harsh winter that lasted until mid-April, the vegetative cycle was significantly delayed. The spring, although mild, was marked by few hours of sunshine and frequent rainfall. However, from early summer to June, the climate stabilised with dry and warm temperatures, favouring ideal ripening of the grapes. The September rains allowed the berries to fill with juice, ensuring a high quality harvest. Although results were variable depending on the zone, 2013 proved to be an excellent vintage, particularly for the Grands Crus.

This Amour de Deutz Rosé 2013 stands out for its splendid pale pink colour with delicate auburn reflections, expressing elegance and vivacity. On the nose, one immediately perceives notes of fresh red fruits such as strawberry, raspberry and cherry, followed by hints of blackberry and a light touch of vanilla. The delicate note of rose petals further accentuates its refinement. On the palate, Amour de Deutz Rosé 2013 is broad and complex, offering a refined structure and aromatic depth that enchants. Gourmand flavours of red fruits blend perfectly with the wine's freshness, creating an impeccable balance between aromatic power and structural finesse. Champagne Deutz

Deutz is a historical Maison in the Champagne region and dates back to the 19th century, as many other competitors in the Champagne business, when the champagne method had not been standardised and sweet sparkling wines were very common. The successful and unforgettagle dry wines were yet to come, especially thanks to the invention of the sugar-indicator in 1836. Two years later, in 1838 in Aÿ, William Deutz and Pierre Gelrdermann founded Deutz. The two were a balanced and compatible couple. Both were born in Aachen, but Deutz had already gathered some experience by Bollinger. He broght this background with, while Geldermann was responsible for the financial aspects of the business - he was the richest of the two. At the beginning of the 20th century, the cave were seriously damaged in 1911 and Deutz was also affected by the two world wars which followed suit. In the 80s André Lallier-Deutz decided to diversify the production and bought caves in California and New Zealand, as well as river shipping companies. In 1991 Deutz barely survived the Gulf Crisis, but was forced to sell 63% of the property to Louis Reoderer. Today it has an annual production of 600,000 bottles of excellent quality.
