The Gosset family has been established in Aÿ since the 16th century, but it was at the beginning of the 20th century that the decisive step toward Champagne production was taken. It was Gabriel Gosset, Paul’s great-grandfather, who first experimented with sparkling wines from grapes that had previously been used almost exclusively for still wines. A pioneering choice at a time when only from the 1930s did some growers begin to vinify a small portion of their harvest as Champagne.

Paul Gosset, now in his early twenties, carries this legacy forward with a remarkably clear and personal vision. Family history, deep knowledge of the terroir, and agronomic sensitivity come together in a coherent and contemporary project, capable of expressing the true identity of Champagne with precision. Supported by his father Michel, Paul is shaping a style that is both essential and refined, combining technical rigor with an authentic interpretation of each parcel.

The Domaine covers around 3.5 hectares, spread across Aÿ, Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Dizy, and Chouilly, with a strong predominance of Pinot Noir, complemented by Chardonnay and Meunier. Each parcel reflects a distinct identity, cultivated with a focus on balance between soil, vine, and environment. In the cellar, fermentations occur spontaneously from a pied de cuve of indigenous yeasts, while about 70% of vinification takes place in oak barrels of various sizes and ages—an artisanal approach that reveals a precise and promising vision, well worth following in the years to come.
