The Champagne Sapience 2015 by Marguet is a visionary and collective project that brings together four of the most respected interpreters of biodynamic viticulture in Champagne: Benoît Marguet, Benoît Lahaye, Vincent Laval, and David Leclapart. The concept behind it is to create a Champagne of ethical and spiritual inspiration, a pure expression of the land and of deep respect for its natural cycles. The cuvée is composed of 45% Chardonnay (from Leclapart’s vineyards in Trépail), 33% Meunier (from Laval in Cumières), and 22% Pinot Noir (from Lahaye in Bouzy), thus uniting three Premier and Grand Cru villages of the Montagne de Reims and the Vallée de la Marne.

The 2015 harvest, balanced and generous, was vinified and aged entirely in oak barrels for about nine months in Marguet’s cellar in Ambonnay, following a fully biodynamic and non-interventionist approach. No fining, no filtration, no added sulfites — only the vital energy of the wine and the precision of artisanal craftsmanship. After bottling, the wine aged for a minimum of eight years on the lees, before being disgorged without dosage (Brut Nature, 0 g/l), a testament to Marguet’s relentless pursuit of authenticity and transparency.

On the palate, Sapience 2015 reveals depth and brightness, with complex aromas of toasted hazelnut, quince, dried flowers, ripe citrus, and a hint of noble oxidation that enhances its aromatic richness. The taste is vibrant and energetic, marked by mineral tension and an embracing structure that unites power and finesse. Its expressive purity, long saline persistence, and crystalline balance make it a meditative Champagne — a symbol of creative freedom and biodynamic spirituality shared by the four vignerons.
