The Champagnes Dehours& Fils come from a 14-hectare domaine, located in Cerseuil, a village in Vallèe de la Marne, west of Epernay. The domaine is a mosaic of 42 vineyards, spread in the villages of Mareuil-le-Port, Oeuilly, Troissy, with different sun-exposition, soil, vines, height, age and, as a consequence, many different nuances to deal with. Jérôme's grandfather, Ludovic, was one of the first independent vignerons in 1930.
His father Robert was one of the promoter of "quality reserve" in 1970, consisting of a certain wine volume stored for years in order to be able to cope with possible bad vintages in the future. Jérôme has been managing the domaine since 1996 and has developed a herbicide-free viniculture. The predominant variety is Meunier, but Dehours is able to offer more fineness and elegance from this variety, than other can do with different ones.
